I have been developing a new spatial concept over the last few weeks together with Artspace B32 in Maastricht. As the vision of the space and its role as a white cube space is shifting, we saw the need to change the interior of the old community center at the Ravelijn in Maastricht as well. For seven years, the basement has served as a neutral backdrop for exhibitions and performances. The goal is to step out from behind that distance and become a space for exchange. A place that opens its doors to the neighbourhood and makes room for people who see things differently.

We wanted to shape this new identity together with the people of Maastricht and especially people from the neighbourhood, which has such an interesting history. Therefore, I hosted a few Open-Build-Sessions over the span of one month: hands-on gatherings where everyone could pick up new skills and help plan and build the new multifunctional elements for the interior.
